Machon Dvir is starting new Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Groups for Young Women in Beit Shemesh & Jerusalem.
Two new DBT Skills Groups will open in Bet Shemesh in October 2018. One group is for adolescent girls and the other is for women over the age of 20. Both groups will be led by Heather Moshel, LCSW and Dr. Devorah Schendler, PhD.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has been proven to be helpful for those struggling with interpersonal difficulties, impulsive, addictive & self-harming behavior, depression, anxiety and dysregulated eating. The weekly DBT skills sessions teach techniques of Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance & Interpersonal Skills.
In parallel with the girls’ DBT Skills Group, at least one of her parents will be required to attend a local Family Connections group, which will give them helpful skills to more effectively manage their daughter’s behavior while validating and supporting her.
We also have new groups starting every few months in Jerusalem. Please contact us if you think DBT Skills could be helpful to you or to a young woman in your circle. To find out more, please contact the Machon Dvir office on 02-625-2527 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
